Mt. Ashibetsu Dake

Trekking to Mt. Ashibetsu Dake begins at Taiyo no Sato Park in Yamabe. There are two routes, Kyu-dou and Shin-dou. Shin-dou takes you 4hrs and 20min.to climb up and 3hrs to walk down. Both routes are suitable for intermediate climbers. Please try Kyu-dou and tell us how long it took. |
Mt.Furano-Nishidake

There are two routes, Kyu-dou and Furano Ski Hill Course. Kyu-do takes 3 and a half hours (3 hrs down) and starts from the small Hahako-do Shrine near Goryou Line Gosen bus stop. Furano Ski Hill Course takes you 3 and half hours (2 and half hours down) and overlooks the Furano Basin and Mt. Tokachidake. |

Mt.Tokachidake

The trekking starting point for Mt. Tokachi dake is located 1270m above sea level from the top of the road beside the Ryounkaku Onsen. The conditions at the top of the mountain can tend to be unpredictable and harsh. Please prepare proper gear. This course starts from the Tokachidake Onsen area.

Sanai hill observatory park

This park is located in the middle point between the outside of town and Takushin Kan (Photo Art Gallery) and there are trails where you can roll or stroll around this hill observatory park on rental bikes or by foot walk. You can see the whole picturesque panoramic road and meet the eyes of Mt. Taisetsu and Tokachi Mount ranges at the direction of North West and Bibaushi elementary school with the famous tower to the South East.

Shinei hill observatory park

This park is located in the middle point between the outside of town and Takushinkan (the Photo Art Gallery) and there are trails to enjoy strolling in this park on rental bikes or by foot. The sunset views from here are renowned as being one of the best in Japan. |
North Western hill observatory park
Biei
This observatory park has 5 ha. of lavender fields, sunflowers, poppies, cosmoses, and purple salvias. There are beautifully picturesque views of the rolling hill country as well as the Taisetsu mountain range which can be seen from the point of the pyramid shaped observatory. The Tourist Information Center is set in the Northern Hill Observatory park where they also sell some souvenirs. This facility was opened by the Kitadai area Agricultural Environmental Development Project in 1995. |

Located at the base of Mt. Ashibetsu dake eTaiyo-no-Satof features a camping site, tennis court, putt-putt golf course and moderate accommodation. There are two trekking courses in the forest and lavender fields here. |
